Gold Standard is a voluntary emissions trading verification standard. It is administered by a non-profit organisation, whose mission is to monitor, develop and verify voluntary emissions trading projects. Gold Standard operates in accordance with the most stringent criteria in the field. This ensures that the emissions reduction achieved in a project is done in accordance with the norms of the Gold Standard certificate, the process has been properly monitored and the experts have verified the project's carbon dioxide balance sheet calculations. The social impact on the local environment is also taken into consideration in the projects.
