USED FRYING OIL INTO RENEWABLE DIESEL

Hesburger restaurants fry thousands of kilos of fries every day. Used frying oil is collected and processed into Neste MY Renewable Diesel™. This fuel also powers Hesburger’s trucks, which transport raw ingredients and supplies to restaurants across Finland. Each year, Hesburger trucks refuel with about 176,000 litres of Neste MY Renewable Diesel™, which was used to drive over 420,000 km last year 2025. In respect of these transports, Hesburger has reduced its logistics-related greenhouse gas emissions by an average of 90%* compared to transports running on fossil diesel.

In 2025, about 400 tons of used frying oil were collected from 260 Hesburger restaurants in Finland. Collection is managed by Hesburger’s logistics partner. Frying oil is also collected in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
