PROCUREMENT
Hesburger’s permanent menu includes dozens of products made using more than one hundred different raw ingredients. Controlling the delivery chain of each individual raw ingredient down to primary production is difficult, and so this process is based on precisely defined requirements and the suppliers’ commitment to comply.
Hesburger procurement is centralized. At the product development stages, we always test a variety of raw ingredient options. The choice of raw ingredients is affected by many things, such as taste, quality, availability, the place of origin, price, delivery reliability, and responsibility. Based on these criteria, we select raw ingredients that are the most suitable for Hesburger. The company seeks to acquire numerous different raw ingredients from the same goods suppliers. This helps with auditing and supply chain control and makes it easier, for example, to reduce the carbon footprint.
Hesburger’s ethical principles apply to the supply chain as well. Suppliers of goods and services are required to commit to the ethical principles of Hesburger, and their commitment is monitored in conjunction with audits.
Hesburger is very open about its suppliers. Information on the raw ingredient producers and the countries of origin of the meat and vegetables is available in restaurants and on the Hesburger website. In addition to raw ingredients, Hesburger acquires many materials and services.
