ETHICAL PRINCIPLES

As part of Hesburger’s responsibility development work, we compiled the following principles, outlining how Hesburger is committed to operating:

  • We observe the local legislation and regulations in all our operations,
  • We openly tell all our stakeholders about our operations and products,
  • We ensure the quality and safety of our products,
  • We seek to reduce the adverse environmental impacts caused by our operations and to take positive action for the benefit of the environment,
  • We are a reliable employer,
  • We do not give or receive any direct or indirect bribes or other benefits that could be construed as bribery or corruption,
  • We prefer long partnerships and operate fairly with all our partners,
  • We require our supply chain to respect human rights in accordance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations,
  • We treat animals appropriately,
  • We observe ethical practices in our marketing,
  • We treat our customers equally and engage in open dialogue with them.

Putting ethical principles into practice

Putting ethical principles into practice throughout our organization is a continuous process of communication and repetition, ensuring that the guidelines evolve into understanding and concrete practices in the company’s daily operations.

  • Employees Responsibility has been added to employees’ online onboarding. In addition, the principles are explained in more detail on our intranet, where they are available for employees to download.
  • Partners Contracts are an important tool in implementing corporate responsibility. Hesburger requires its partners to commit to ethical principles. All raw material and ingredient purchase agreements include a separate corporate responsibility appendix, which specifies in detail the actions needed to ensure compliance with these principles throughout the raw material and ingredient supply chain. Corporate responsibility is also taken into account in the audits conducted by Hesburger.
  • Customers The ethical principles are published on Hesburger’s website as part of the digital responsibility report.
