Carbon footprint calculator
Monitoring and reducing our carbon footprint
Hesburger continuously develops its operations to reduce its environmental impact. An important part of this work is gaining a more accurate understanding of the carbon footprint of our operations and products.
In 2026, Hesburger introduced the Finnish CarbonLink´s carbon footprint calculator across its restaurant operations in Finland. The AI-powered tool enables us to monitor our carbon footprint in near real time, down to the level of individual ingredients. This gives us more detailed information about where our emissions come from and where we can make the most impactful changes.
Data to support our sustainability work
CarbonLink allows us to examine our carbon footprint at both individual restaurant and Group level. Comparable data enables us to monitor development across different restaurants and years, as well as assess the impact of the measures we have taken.
More accurate information helps us target our sustainability efforts where they can have the greatest impact. We can, for example, examine the carbon footprint of individual ingredients and other activities, making it easier to identify the largest sources of emissions.
Towards more sustainable operations
We want to make our sustainability work as concrete, transparent and impactful as possible. Real-time carbon footprint data supports decision-making and helps us develop our operations systematically over the long term.
CarbonLink is also used in supplier management. This allows us to examine our suppliers’ emissions data and other sustainability-related information, helping us further develop sustainability throughout our supply chain.
More accurate carbon footprint monitoring is one of the ways we are working towards our goal of becoming the most sustainable operator in the restaurant industry.
